100% of the domains are triple certified, a first in the tourism industry: ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and Green Key.<\/em><\/p>\n

Respect for the environment has been at the heart of Center Parcs’ commitments since its creation over 55 years ago. Certified ISO 14001 for the first time in 2002, then ISO 50001 in 2017, Center Parcs also has all of its 29 European domains certified Green Key, including Les Landes de Gascogne, which was inaugurated last May. This triple certification, unprecedented in the tourism sector, illustrates the quality of the brand’s environmental management system and its management of the domains in terms of waste recycling, energy consumption and water management.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Nature and respect for the environment have been part of the brand’s DNA since its creation in 1967. Today, as the European leader in local tourism, our role is to actively participate in the ecological transition of the sector. Concerned about a more respectful and responsible tourism, we are committed to concrete measures to be achieved by 2025, then 2030, with the aim of improving our environmental performance”, says Erwin Dezeure, Center Parcs CSR Director.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

CENTER PARCS REINFORCES THE OBJECTIVES OF ITS CSR STRATEGY<\/strong><\/p>\n

This triple certification confirms the daily commitment of the brand and all its employees to customer satisfaction, health, safety and the reduction of the environmental footprint of its activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

– \u00a0 \u00a0The ISO 14001 standard attests to the fact that Center Parcs has implemented concrete measures to reduce its environmental impact; for example, by stimulating biodiversity, optimising the selective waste collection process and drawing up a precise wildlife management plan.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

– \u00a0 \u00a0The ISO 50001 standard ensures the proper deployment of efficient and quality energy measures, such as the installation of a wood-fired boiler on Les Trois For\u00eats and Landes de Gascogne estates, and intelligent thermostats in the cottages, for example.<\/p>\n

– \u00a0 \u00a0The Green Key label, the first international label for responsible tourism, certifies the commitment of Center Parcs and each of its 29 domains to limit the impact on the environment, to raise customer awareness and to promote the richness of the destinations.<\/p>\n

Center Parcs is announcing new concrete measures and precise objectives to be achieved by 2025, based on two essential pillars: Humanity and Nature.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Firmly committed to preserving and enriching the natural environment, the brand also intends to develop an effective sustainability policy and has set itself ambitious targets. By 2030, Center Parcs aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions from energy consumption by 46% (compared to 2019). This approach is in line with the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to +1.5\u00b0C. In terms of the environment, Center Parcs is committed to the following by 2025:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

o \u00a0 \u00a0Reduce its energy consumption by 25% (compared to 2019) by improving building performance and developing renewable and green energy solutions;
o \u00a0 \u00a0Reduce the impact on natural resources by reducing water consumption by 16% (compared to 2019);
o \u00a0 \u00a0Improve its waste management and reach 70% of waste sorted and recovered;
o \u00a0 \u00a0Define an ecological management plan for 100% of its domains to strengthen the protection and enrichment of the natural capital of the sites where the brand is located.<\/p>\n

DOMAINS INTEGRATED INTO THEIR ENVIRONMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Center Parcs remains true to its roots by offering experiences inspired by the local environment of each estate. At Landes de Gascogne, for example, holidaymakers are immersed in the theme of the “Wonders of Nature” through edutainment activities closely linked to the seasonal nature and riches of the Lot-et-Garonne. Last March, the Het Meerdal estate (Netherlands) redeveloped the entire natural heart of the domain to place immersion and the integration of nature at the heart of the project. \u00a0In the same way, the De Vossemeren (Belgium) and Bispinger Heide (Germany) domains offer the opportunity to discover the fauna and flora during a learning walk through the renovated park, accompanied by a ranger.<\/p>\n

With their genuine local roots, whether natural, economic or social, the Center Parcs domains encourage holidaymakers to discover the environment of the areas in which they are located. There are tourist office branches on each domain. Guests can also take advantage of a market of local producers and find regional specialities on the park. In addition, Center Parcs has adopted a responsible catering charter which increases the volume of locally sourced products.<\/p>\n
