1967

It all began in Avoriaz. The ski resort – the Group’s birthplace – is a veritable concentrate of architectural, sporting, tourist and leisure innovations.

1976

The Group launches the Tourism Residence, an alternative between the traditional hotel and the second home in the most beautiful regions by the sea, in the mountains and later in city centers.

1990

Cap Esterel is inaugurated. Pedestrian, innovative in its architecture and giving primacy to nature, it illustrates the future holiday villages with shops and “à la carte” leisure and activities.

1998

Opening of two Pierre & Vacances villages in the West Indies: Sainte Anne in Guadeloupe and Sainte Luce in Martinique.

1999

Pierre & Vacances is listed on the Second Marché on 11 June 1999. The financial press hails the tourism operator as a residence rental manager.

2003

The Group took over Center Parcs and set out to conquer the countryside. The concept of short stays in a cosy cottage close to a heated swimming pool, quickly became a huge success.

2005

Pierre & Vacances transposes its model abroad and opens its first destination in Bonmont, Spain. The brand adapts to the specificities of each market and to local habits.

2007

Pierre & Vacances and Accor join forces and create Adagio City Aparthotel. This joint venture, renamed Aparthotels Adagio, is now Europe’s number one urban residence.

2017

Opening of Villages Nature® Paris, the first eco-destination located on the outskirts of Paris, which takes a global approach to sustainable and responsible tourism that is unprecedented in the tourism sector.

2021

The Group is launching its Reinvention strategic plan, which creates performance, value and meaning. It is based on a new vision of reinvented local tourism.

2022

Financial and capital restructuring of the Group and opening of the capital to three new shareholders and a governance completely renewed.

2023

The Group’s carbon trajectory has been validated by the international SBTi organization: -51% of emissions linked to energy consumption by 2030 (vs 2019).
