My career path within the PVCPTeam
I joined the Group in 1998 as operations controller in an entity that was then called Maeva Latitudes. Very quickly, I was offered to broaden my skills, with a position as sales manager for seminars and groups in the Cannes Mandelieu site. After 2 years, I was promoted to Site Manager in Les Ménuires in a hotel with a hundred rooms with catering and entertainment. Thereafter, the company always offered me, every 3 or 4 years, job evolutions, promotions that allowed me to change register, brand and activity. So I successively managed a Maeva hotel in Les Ménuires, then a major residence Pierre & Vacances in Val Thorens before taking over the management of a 500-unit Club maeva village in the Camargue. It was a flagship convention center of the Group, with three restaurants, three bars, a 9-hole golf course, a 1,000-seat convention hall, 18 sub-committee rooms, an equestrian center, a covered sports hall of 4000m², and all managed directly by a team of 150 employees in summer. For my last on-site position, I then took over the responsibility of a major site in the Vendée, a region that I did not know and that I wanted to discover.
25 years of career and still as many opportunities!
My superiors knew that I had a great desire to move and learn. From my first job, I wanted to open up new horizons and get out of my comfort zone on a regular basis. Within the Group, this was possible, without changing companies! Especially as here you get a human environment and values that make you want to stay. For the past 5 years, I have been the Operational Director of the maeva Home network. In this position, I have had to support a change of model that was not easy for the teams, since with maeva.com, we started renting from private individuals. My experience and my legitimacy were assets to convince my peers and to accompany this timely change for the Group, since we bring a solution to more than 3500 owners.
To me, “getting back to basics” means… ?
Among other things, cooking for my friends and family. I love it, when I was a site manager, I sometimes spent half a day in the kitchens of our restaurants, to observe and learn. Today, I use this experience to prepare recipes of French gastronomy or try to reproduce my mother’s dishes, those of my Cameroonian childhood!
« The managers are really looking to develop their employees. My director has already offered me two training courses since my arrival in 2021. »
« When I returned from maternity leave, I had the choice between two jobs. I wanted to evolve and I also wanted a different rhythm, not to work on weekends, in particular, to spend time with my daughter. »
« Today, the Disability Mission is very active and very present in the company and I feel protected and supported. »
« From my first job, I wanted to open up new horizons and get out of my comfort zone on a regular basis. Within the Group, this was possible, without changing companies! »
« Bringing joy is what our job is all about. But what we do for these struggling families is very powerful. »
